Pastor: Randy Snider
Pastor Randy Snider first began his ministry at First Baptist in Byron as a Summer Intern Youth
Pastor in 1979. At the end of the Summer of 1979 the church voted to hire Pastor Randy as a Full
Time Youth Pastor. Pastor Randy served at First Baptist until 1987, at which time he felt God
leading him to Elim Baptist Church in Rockford, IL where he served until 1991. Pastor Randy returned
to First Baptist in Byron in 1991, serving as Youth/Assistant Pastor and then was called as Sr.
Pastor in 1999.
Pastor Randy graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and then finished his degree through Trinity University. Pastor Randy has also served on the Byron Fire Department as an Intermediate Paramedic and currently as a Chaplain for both the Fire and Police Departments. God has truly blessed us at First Baptist with such a Godly man with such a servants heart.
Youth Pastor: Michael Scruggs
When Pastor Randy Snider first began his ministry at First Baptist in Byron in 1979, Michael
Scruggs wasn’t even born yet. But three years later in Lynchburg, VA he was born and thus God
brought unspeakable joy, peace, and enlightenment to the entire human race.
Okay so he was just born in Lynchburg, VA in 1982 where he grew up and eventually went to college. Michael graduated from Liberty University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies. Michael has served as a youth ministry volunteer, intern, and assitant (Virginia 2000-2004), part-time youth pastor/counselor/coffee barista (Tennessee 2005-2006), and full-time youth pastor at FBC Byron since August of 2006. God has blessed the youth ministry by having Michael here and blessed the rest of the congregation and community by having his lovely wife, Amanda keeping him in check!
