What is Salvation?

Salvation is an action.

It is simply asking Jesus into our hearts, realizing and knowing He died on the cross for our sins. The Bible tells us in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”.

We are all sinners.

But, because God gave His Son Jesus to die on the cross for us, for our sins, we can ask Him into our hearts and be forgiven for our sins. Jesus stands at the door of our heart and knocks. If we invite Him in, we are saved…and that is Salvation. And that is the ONLY way to God. Once we ask Christ to come into our hearts we can be assured that we are going to Heaven. We do not have to work our way to heaven. The Bible says in Titus 3:5, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy, He saved us”. Once we are saved God works in our hearts and we want to do what is right and we desire to work for and serve our Lord.
