What we Believe

Mission Statement:
Loving God, Loving People!

First Baptist Church of Byron exists for the sole purpose of glorifying God through our worship and through our lives. First Baptist emphasizes the importance of pursuing personal spiritual growth and living our Christian life daily. We strive to Walk With Christ and to Work For Christ. First Baptist is a place to belong….A place to become. We invite you to become a part of our church family.

Statement of Faith:
First Baptist Church believes that Jesus Christ is Lord and that His Word is the sole authority for faith. We are committed to building up the body of Christ and reaching out to the Byron area and community, committing ourselves to fulfill the command of Christ to take the Gospel to our world.

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. We believe that all men are sinners and salvation comes from repenting of our sins and asking Christ into our hearts. We believe in baptism by immersion and that baptism is an act of obedience once we are saved. We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and that his conduct should be blameless before the world, that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions and that he should be in regular fellowship with his local church.
